Matt West Of The PBR Laces Up
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas and the best of the PBR are leaving everything on the dirt this week for a chance at the title of World Champion. Matt West, one of the voices of the PBR, is busy keeping us all informed of every fight, every ride but took time to join the #LaceUpAMERICA movement to show appreciation for our nation’s veterans.
Tell us why supporting the military is important to you?
They are literally the reason that we have the ability to do EVERYTHING that we enjoy: 100% of the reason we get to wake up with our families, get to choose what we do for work, in our free time and just take a walk at night. Everything we get are free to do is because our military, our veterans raised their hand and volunteered to protect us.
What does it mean to you to #livelacedup and lace up a pair of combat boots?
The men and women that serve are boots on the ground, and anytime I can show my gratitude, I will. To #livelacedup is my responsibility to them. It is my responsibility to support our service members and veterans in any way they need or I can possibly give. To put on Boot Campaign boots, donate to a great nonprofit, or shake their hand and give someone a big hug – whatever it is, #livinglacedup is just about doing something to improve the life of those who serve.
What does patriotism mean to you?
Being proud of where we come from and how great this country is. Patriotism is not about bragging, but realizing what we have in this incredible country is amazing. And it wasn’t free.
Why do you believe in the mission of Boot Campaign?
I’m a firm believer in serving and finding an organization that actually changes people’s lives. There are a lot of organizations that are not in it for the right reasons. Boot Campaign has sincerity in what they do and their program is geared to each veteran and improving their way of life.
Who else would you like to see in Boot Campaign boots?
Easy – Hulk Hogan. Let’s do it!
