For years, Freddie minimized the impact of his injuries, both physically and mentally. But, eventually, he knew something had to change. Before beginning his individualized treatment plan with Boot Campaign, Freddie put his hopes for the future into words. With your support, more Veterans like Freddie will get the tools and treatment they need and so deserve. Service was a way of life in Freddie’s family. With a sense of duty and patriotism, he joined the Navy and served for 30 years, deploying multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. When Freddie retired from the military, he struggled with carrying the burden of three decades of service and the toll it takes on both your body and brain. Determined to transition well and be the husband, father and person he wanted to be, Freddie reached out to Boot Campaign and found authentic treatment that allowed intentional healing. With your support, more Veterans like Freddie will get the treatment they need and so deserve. Meet Tanner who served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman in Afghanistan and later as a Special Operations Civil Affairs Medical Sergeant, supporting the U.S. Embassy operations in Northeast Syria and Bangladesh. Upon his return, he felt numb, struggling with posttraumatic stress disorder and suicidal ideation. When he saw that he needed help, he reached out to Boot Campaign and it changed his trajectory. Our approach of not only supporting Veterans but their families as well meant that Tanner, his wife and family would all benefit. As Tanner would go on to say, “This program isn’t transactional, it’s relational.” With your support, more Veterans like Tanner will get the treatment they need and so deserve.
