Midland’s Basin Burnout Honors Veterans Through Soiree, Music & BBQ
For the 5th year in a row, the Permian Basin Association of Directional Drilling (PBADD) hosted its Stars and Stripes Soiree and Basin Burnout Amateur BBQ Cook-off and Music Festival in Midland to raise awareness and funds for America’s military veterans. The two day event in May brought together patriots, veterans, musicians and grillmasters to offer something fun for everyone in the name of freedom and those who protect it.
The Stars and Stripes Soirée was held at the Petroleum Club of Midland on Friday, May 20 and included an amazing keynote by veteran Bobby Henline! Live and silent auctions helped raise money while guests enjoyed dinner, dancing and live music from Chad Prather.
The following day, the Basin Burnout Amateur BBQ Cook-off and Music Festival began bright and early at The Tailgate in Midland. An annual favorite for local and regional cooking teams to highlight their impressive BBQ pits and barbecuing skills, the event drew 30 cooking teams and hundreds of attendees for the great food, family activities and live music from country artists Austin Allsup, Jeff Canada and headliner Cory Morrow.
Boot Campaign was honored to be one of two organizations to benefit from the weekend’s festivities along with Reel Thanx, each receiving a $25,000 donation after the incredible weekend! To the entire team at PBADD, the Basin Burnout Committee, all event sponsors, cooking teams and attendees, we thank you greatly for giving back to the men and women we serve through our individualized programs!
