Jeff went straight into the U.S. Navy after graduating high school in 1987. During his career that spanned both pre- and post-9/11, Jeff witnessed events that took the lives of many of his brothers and sisters in arms. He carried the weight of his experiences and those tragic losses with him, leading to a pattern of avoidance and withdrawal from loved ones.
