U.S. Army Veteran Jay Leitner’s second deployment introduced him to the harsh realities of war and combat. His experiences led him to a point which he describes as he was “drifting along.” He stopped taking care of himself, was taking multiple medications and drinking heavily to cope. He wasn’t looking forward to being around anymore, but at that low point, he sought help. After receiving a complete analysis of his brain and body and an individualized pipeline of care through our Health & Wellness Program, Jay finally felt improvement in every area of his life. Impacted by the events of 9/11, Marc Aldrich proudly joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a Flight Mechanic after high school. His time spent as a Flight Mechanic quickly introduced him to the world of combat, leaving him little time to process the trauma and grief that came along with it. After separating from service, his sleep and physical health took a turn for the worse, leading a friend to suggest that he reach out to Boot Campaign for help. Marc began a personalized program to treat his specific symptoms and shares how he has overcame his hidden wounds and became a healthier person, better father and committed employee as a result. Struggling with bouts of anger and depression, he ultimately made a plan to end his life but instead, reached out for help. Erik shares how Boot Campaign’s individualized care through our Health & Wellness Program was exactly what he needed to carry forward as a better human, husband and father. Retired U.S Air Force Veteran Kyle Baglia came to Boot Campaign when he realized that his thoughts were so destructive they had driven him to the point of taking his life. With a desire to be the man of selfless service that he was when he signed up for the military, he shares how our Health & Wellness Program lifted him out of the valley he had become lost in. We’re so grateful for Veterans like Kyle who raised their right hand to serve, but also put in the work necessary to experience healing. For 33 years, Tim Travis worked as a Texas police officer and a U.S. Army Reservist. Following 9/11, Tim was activated six times, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the course of his service, Tim sustained a traumatic brain injury, or TBI, and after each deployment, his symptoms intensified – chronic memory loss, short tempered and more. We’re so grateful for veterans like Tim who raised their right hand to protect and serve, but also put in the work necessary so that his past experiences don’t define him.
