Fisher House Foundation Lives Laced Up

/

Thoughtful, committed partnerships fuel our mission to restore the lives of veterans and military families through individualized, life-improving programs. Fisher House Foundation has been instrumental in providing flights and hotels to Boot Campaign candidates receiving care through our Health and Wellness program.

“Costs for addressing complex medical issues plaguing many of our nation’s veterans is costly,” said Shelly Kirkland, Boot Campaign CEO. “Thanks to passionate, like-minded leaders like the team at Fisher House Foundation, our overall costs are reduced, and we are able to provide treatment to more of those who need it most. We are tremendously grateful.”

Since 2017, Fisher House Foundation has provided more than 200 hotel nights and more than 175 flights for Boot Campaign candidates receiving treatment for brain injury, PTSD, chronic pain, addiction and/or insomnia. Their generosity provided a cost savings of more than $150,000 to our efforts.

“Fisher House Foundation is proud to partner with Boot Campaign by providing flights and hotel rooms through our Hero Miles and Hotel for Heroes programs,” said Chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation Ken Fisher. “We believe in Boot Campaign’s mission of helping service members and their families heal together. We look forward to continuing this partnership in helping our greatest national treasure – our military men and women and their loved ones.”

Because of the Fisher House Foundation, not only are veterans provided flights and hotel stays, but their families are afforded the opportunity to visit them while receiving care as well. Surrounding the children, husbands and wives of those Boot Campaign serves is imperative to whole and long-lasting health.

For veteran wives like Julia, the partnership between Fisher House Foundation and Boot Campaign made a tremendous impact for their whole family. She said, “The kids were so happy and grateful to be able to spend time with their dad. They had really been missing him, and it was starting to show in their attitudes and performance at school. So it was perfect for them to be able to have that time together. I think it really gave them confidence in order to keep pushing through. During my trip, I was able to really spend some time discussing plans and fears for the future. I am so full of gratitude for everything y’all have done. We really cannot thank y’all enough for everything that you have done for our family.”

Together we can do more.

Fisher House Foundation and its Hero Miles and Hero Hotels Programs provide round-trip airline tickets and hotel stays to wounded, injured, and ill service members and/or their families who are undergoing treatment. Flights and hotel nights are made possible through frequent flyer mile donations and hotel point contributions made by individual airline passengers and hotel guests.
