Filling the Gap
There’s no arguing that the GI Bill has helped hundreds of thousands build a solid foundation for civilian life, but any hiccup in the process can cause lasting financial difficulties for veterans working hard toward their degrees. Army veteran Richard spent 12 years on active duty, including service in Iraq and Kuwait. After being medically discharged, he enrolled in school to pave the way to a more successful future. He recently transferred to a different school, however, and his benefits were delayed during the transition. Rather than risk losing the stability he had worked hard to establish, Richard turned to the Boot Campaign to fill the gap in his GI Bill benefits and keep him on the right track. He didn’t need a lot of help, but we’re so glad he allowed us to give him a little support on his journey. It’s an A+ kind of day for us.
