Every Day, YOU MATTER.
It’s no secret that suicide rates amongst Veterans are far too high and higher than those of the general civilian population. But this heartbreaking reality is more than a statistic. Behind it is a man or woman who has given so much to this country and to those who call America home. However the numbers are counted, even one loss is too many.
Each September, we rally around one message we want all Veterans to know: YOU MATTER. And over the last 30 days, so many joined our battle cry.
Colleagues came together in the workplace. Our partners at Kubota USA rallied at Kubota Connects in Kissimmee, Florida and wore their co-branded orange YOU MATTER shirts.
Across the internet, influencers and followers alike shared their own feelings about our YOU MATTER message.
Food Network Host Aarti Sequeira wrote, “Whether you’re a Veteran, a military spouse, a parent, a kid, a friend — whoever you are, wherever you are today: You matter. You are precious. Your life has value. The world would not be the same without you. Please don’t fight this alone. ❤️ ”
Military Spouse Lauren Hanley posted a reel to her feed in which she discussed the importance of caring for those who often believe that asking for help isn’t a priority saying, “Mental health doesn’t discriminate. It affects every single walk of life, and in the military community especially, we wear mental health as a sign of weakness. We’re the least likely to reach out for help. But reaching out is exactly what saved my life.”
And Dallas Leveroni, a Veteran who graduated from our Health & Wellness Program and then founded DNA Hat Company shared, “I don’t know what you’re dealing with…but I’m glad you’re still here. I know you’ve possibly thought about not being here. Please don’t do that. Please stay.”
As we move into October and beyond, we want to remind you that YOU MATTER isn’t just a moment–it’s a movement. Keep reaching out. Keep asking for help. This world wouldn’t be the same without you.
YOU MATTER.
