The Boulevard Doubles Down for Veterans

/

The greatest doubles team of all time, Mike and Bob Bryan, laced up their court shoes at The Boulevard Tennis Club in Vero Beach, FL to raise funds for those who donned different footwear, the combat boot, to protect and defend our freedoms.

As part of the marquee event called The Veterans Cup, the Bryan Brothers were joined by two-time Olympic Gold medalist Nicolas Massu, ATP Tour top-ranked Reilly Opelka and US Open and Wimbledon Champions Robert Farah and Juan Cabal to give back to those who served.

“The March 23 Pro-Am tournament garnered $11,500 in support for Boot Campaign’s mission,” said Tim Bruggerman, Director of Tennis at the Boulevard. “It’s our honor and privilege to host an incredible event to benefit some of our nation’s most important people, our Veterans.”

The generous donation from the Veterans Cup will support Florida Veterans receiving personalized treatment and care through Boot Campaign’s Health & Wellness Program. Veterans like Bob, who served for more than 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves and then continued his career as a law enforcement officer in Orlando.

During his numerous military deployments Bob experienced a close encounter with an improvised explosive device and enemy fire. He reached out to Boot Campaign to find help in dealing with some of the lasting effects from traumatic events from service and police work.

“My wife has seen a huge difference in my demeanor and we’re communicating well,” said Bob. “I could not have made these positive changes without the help of Boot Campaign and look forward to continuing my personalized care plan to make even greater strides.”
