UFC Middleweight Contender and Army Veteran, Tim Kennedy, Joins Boot Campaign

The Boot Campaign welcomes UFC Middleweight Contender Tim Kennedy, as he releases his official boot photo now featured on http://BootCampaign.com. Kennedy joins the growing list of UFC fighters such as Anderson Silva, Urijah Faber, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, Junior Dos Santos, Jon Jones, Forrest Griffin, Anthony Pettis and many others who have laced up with the Boot Campaign—a national nonprofit dedicated to cultivating awareness, promoting patriotism, and providing assistance to military personnel, past and present, and their families. Kennedy is one of the few UFC fighters to simultaneously serve full-time in the United States Army while also fighting professionally.
Tim Kennedy joined the Army on January 4, 2004 and completed Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, Airborne School and the Special Forces Qualification Course. In 2007, he completed Ranger School and was assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group, where he served on Operational Detachments Alpha. Among Kennedy’s multiple awards are the Army’s Bronze Star Medal with V device, which was awarded for valor under fire.
When asked who his heroes are his response is, “Every soldier in Afghanistan right now, and [fellow UFC Fighter and Veteran] Brian Stann.”
Kennedy started martial arts training when he was in grade school. Over the years he traveled between Karate, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, and added MMA (Mixed Martial Art) training into the mix by the end of high school. He is a black belt in MACP (Modern Army Combative), and a Black Belt in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu.
This well-rounded fighter and hero also found time to attend college, obtaining a BA in Criminal Justice from Columbia College.
