Texas Tech’s Kliff Kingsbury Gets His Boots On!
I first met Micaela at a Pushups for Charity event in Coppell, TX in 2012. But, It wasn’t until this year that I started to get to know her better…. She doesn’t hide the fact that she is a huge lover of Boot Campaign, our military, and of course, Kliff Kingsbury and her Red Raiders. So, it was no surprise to me when she contacted me and said that she had spoke with Kliff about getting his BOOTS on. Let me just tell you — I am so proud to have Micaela as part of the Boot Campaign! She cultivates awareness, and promotes patriotism for the men and women of our military and their families. She not only has her BOOTS on but she goes above and beyond to spread the GIVE BACK message to everyone she knows or comes in contact with — and I just love to be around her! 🙂 Check out how she got Kliff to agree to a BOOT shoot! – Boot Girl Brandi
In the last three years, attending Texas Tech has transformed me into a die-hard Red Raider. My education experience has been great, the town is fun, and our fans are rowdy. When Texas Tech football lovers learned of the hire of new head coach, alum Kliff Kingsbury, madness ensued. Naturally, I had to find a way to make Boot Campaign a part of it.
I heard Kliff speak in a senior seminar course with Chancellor Kent Hance, and he spoke of his veteran father. Instantly I saw this as an opportunity. I frantically contacted Boot Campaign and voiced the idea of getting Kliff in boots. After getting approved, we pitched the idea to Kliff and he kindly accepted without hesitation. Little did I know, I would be the photographer on this project.
Walking into the Football Training Facility, I did not know what to expect. I wandered around the building for a few minutes trying to calm my nerves. I was about to meet the most popular, and, dare I say, most handsome, new head coach in college football.
Ladies, and male football fanatics, I wish I could tell you that you do not need to be jealous, or that it was just a good experience. But no. It. Was. Fantastic. On top of having a love for Tech, Kliff proved to be one of the kindest people I have met, and his interest in taking time to help this cause was genuine. I was able to talk to him about the great services Boot Campaign provides and how much we appreciate having a person such as himself get involved.
There are no words to describe how becoming involved with Boot Campaign has heightened my love for our armed services. I hope Kliff’s generosity of his time serves as a call to action for Red Raiders, past and present, to get their BOOTS on.
Huge thanks to Kliff Kingsbury for getting his BOOTS on, and Wreck ‘Em Tech!
