Shining A Light For Military Families
When women get together with a mission in mind, others often benefit and that’s exactly what happened when the Beach Lights group of Vero Beach, Florida gathered in support of Boot Campaign.
More than 60 women wanted to do something beyond their group’s purpose and held a gift card drive to benefit Boot Campaign’s Seasons of Service Program to practically meet the needs of Veterans and military families experiencing hardship.
The gift cards collected allowed those Veteran and military families supported through our Seasons of Service Program to fill up their gas tanks, buy groceries and purchase other essentials to make a BIG difference. Not only was the group effort beneficial to the Veterans and military families receiving them, but it also reminded the Beach Lights members why they do what they do.
As Tori Barnett, one of the group’s founders said, “Beach Lights is a community of women dedicated to opening God’s Word so that we will grow in our love for Him and be encouraged to shine His light. Serving others is at the heart of our ministry and we loved playing a small part in Boot Campaign’s important work to give back to Veterans and military families.”
Activating your book club, friend group or colleagues can be as simple as organizing a gift card drive to support those facing hardship. Learn more about ways to get involved at bootcampaign.org/getinvolved OR connect with us to brainstorm meaningful ideas to make an impact.
