A former Outside Linebacker and Special Teams player for the University of Notre Dame under Coach Lou Holtz, he graduated with an Accounting Degree and a second Major in Philosophy in 1996. Beginning at the Notre Dame gridiron, through the study of law and conflict resolution, to fighting through the streets of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, to the vigorous pursuit and study of pugilism, Special Operations Chief William Wagasy shares his powerful philosophy of life and what persevering and performing through harsh and violent conditions has taught him. Connecting quickly with his listeners using his unassuming approach and charisma, along with his trademark humor yet grounded in realism, he describes the special time and place America holds in history. He reflects on the importance of our awareness of our present opportunity and the sacrifice that made it possible. Also, the urgency that we should have to find and follow our collective and individual purpose, on what being part of a “Team” truly means and handling triumph as well as tragedy. Chief Wagasy motivates audiences to find their “fight” in life. He gives them specific tools to navigate through the mentally and emotionally challenging times to produce success and achieve their specific goals and dreams.
