Making a House a Home
Meet the T. family. After losing his legs in Afghanistan, Chris was grateful beyond words to go home to his wife Natalie and their three kids, but life at home proved difficult with his new mobility challenges. To make matters worse, the family’s dishwasher broke, which is tough enough for a young family of five, but far worse for an amputee who uses the machine to sanitize his medical equipment. The T. family needed help to make their house comfortable for Chris and to give them a happy, healthy home.
Boot Campaign‘s Military Recovery Fund provides financial assistance to military families when they need it most. Thanks to donations by corporate sponsor Veterans United Foundation, the T. family was able to buy a new dishwasher and make additional modifications to allow Chris to move about unrestricted. Finally, there’s no place like home.
