ConnectingVets.com: Boot Campaign Wants You to Lace Up America!

“Veterans Day is very near and dear to my heart,” said Sarah Lucas, Boot Campaign veteran ambassador. “The push that we do the week prior to Veterans Day allows me to really speak out about our family, about other veterans — it’s just to bring pride to what they do and what those before them did.”
Lucas served in the Army for sixteen years, her husband served in the Marine Corps for 30 years, and two of her four sons currently serve in the Coast Guard. They all laced up.
“We wear our boots every day — my whole family,” Lucas said. “Specifically this week, it starts a conversation. People ask me why I’m wearing combat boots with a dress, and then we’re able to speak about our foundation and what it does and how it helps.”
