Jumping for a Purpose!
We have some pretty incredible program partners and Wounded Wear has been with us since we were formed in 2010. One of our favorite events to support is Wounded Wear’s annual Jumping for a Purpose. This 5th annual empowerment event takes wounded warriors skydiving while enjoying local musicians, food, and beverages. The event is May 30th and 31st in Virginia Beach, VA. The Boot Campaign granted $5,000 to Wounded Wear to help fund Jumping for a Purpose and have sponsored former Army Sgt. Jeremy Jackson who received the Purple Heart in 2005 for his heroic actions serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jackson and 74 other wounded warriors and Gold Star families will skydive over a two day period. Ground zero for the skydivers is SkyDive Suffolk. If you happen to be in the Virginia Beach area, please come out to watch these amazing men and women take to the sky.
Be sure to check the I AM BOOT CAMPAIGN blog next week. We’re going to share Jeremy’s story and his experience at Jumping for a Purpose. Exactly why would this wounded warrior jump out of a perfectly good airplane? I can’t wait to ask him!
