Military Family Shares Impact of Seasons of Service Program

There can be hard seasons for every family, including our military families who are balancing the weight of their service with everyday life. When those hard seasons hit, we know it takes a village to come together and meet the needs of these deserving families, families like the Hardins.
Husband and father and Navy pilot, Gatlin, was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer that had spread to his liver. Between October 2022 and October 2024, he endured 26 rounds of chemotherapy, numerous hospitalizations and surgeries.
Together with his wife, Breen, the Hardins have four daughters, one of whom is special needs. You can imagine how difficult these last several years of treatment and care have been on Gatlin and the entire family.
We were honored to serve the family through our Seasons of Service Program. We stepped in to support them amidst all of the medical and emotional challenges with a box of needs and wishes individualized for each of them.
In the days following the hand-delivery of the packages, Breen shared, “A box arrived today for us and I’m blown away! I was not expecting all of this. Thank you so much for loving on our family like this.”
“The girls desperately needed new tennis shoes and, as you can imagine, purchasing 4 pairs is expensive! All of these games and activities are going to be so much fun! Y’all were so generous! Thank you again for thinking of us!”
To support a military family enduring a difficult time, like the Hardin family, we encourage you to visit our Seasons of Service Program page to learn more, donate or purchase needs that can be given to those who serve(d) who are experiencing hardship.
