Family First
Last month, the Boot Campaign had the honor of providing a grant to Richard, a retired United States Marine, husband and father of four. Since Richard’s separation from the military, his wife remained by his side to care for him. Unfortunately, the family faced several incredibly challenging hurdles in close succession: the caregiver benefits they received allowing Richard’s wife to remain focused on his care were terminated, and then she, too, began suffering from multiple medical complications. Understandably, their home environment grew tense due to the financial strain and mounting medical bills. With assistance from Boot Campaign’s Military Recovery Fund, Richard was able to pay some of their outstanding medical bills and put food on the table for his family. We’re able to provide these urgent assistance grants thanks to donations from generous individuals and corporate supporters. Thank you.
