Celebrity Supporter: Olympian Johnny Spillane
The Winter Olympics only come around ever four years… That’s just one of the many reasons why they are so special. Back in the 2010 Vancouver games, Boot Campaign was lucky enough to get Team USA Olympian, Johnny Spillane in his BOOTS showing his support for America’s Defenders! In honor of the 2014 Sochi games, Johnny is our Celebrity Supporter of the week!
Johnny made the USA team for the 1998 Nagano games but did not compete in any events. In the 2002 Utah games he placed 32nd in both sprint and individual events. He was disappointed with the 2006 Turin games placing 10th in the 7.5km and 30th in the individual. However, he really turned it around for the 2010 Vancouver games winning 3 silver medals in the Nordic Combined, a combination event consisting of ski jumping and cross country skiing. In 2010, he also earned a special place in our hearts as the first Olympian to get his BOOTS on!
Johnny retired from the sport in April of 2013. We LOVE you Johnny and the games just aren’t the same without you!
