Austin, TX (February 14, 2013) – The Boot Campaign, a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is partnering with Boulder Crest Retreat, a privately funded rural sanctuary being built in Bluemont, Va., to provide wellness programs for seriously injured military personnel and their families. The Boot Campaign begins this new partnership with a $25,000 donation to sponsor the retreat’s archery range. Boot Campaign representatives will be visiting the retreat on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 for the formal check presentation.

“The archery range is just the first phase of our relationship with Boulder Crest Retreat,” said Gwen Lammers, Director of Operations and Programs for the Boot Campaign. “We are dedicated to a long-lasting relationship with Boulder Crest Retreat and have plans to financially support other wellness programs and activities at the facility for our wounded military and their families.”

The archery range is being specifically designed to be ADA-accessible and will feature a covered facility with block and 3D target archery andsix dedicated lanes. Currently under construction and set to open this September, Boulder Crest Retreat is a rural sanctuary near Washington, D.C. for wounded warriors and their families to reconnect and recuperate as they go through the long recovery process from physical and mental injuries and trauma.

Once completed, Boulder Crest Retreat will host between 250-500 families year providing free, ADA-accessible accommodations, recreational activities and wellness programs in a scenic and peaceful environment. The retreat is privately funded and has capital campaign to raise $10 million. While the retreat has crossed the halfway fundraising milestone, an additional $5 million still needs to be raised and support is very much needed.
