They say every cloud has a silver lining, and the Boot Campaign couldn’t agree more. We know the hole left by the loss of a parent or the difficulties faced when a parent is wounded in combat are tough, so we’re working to make the days a little brighter for a few lucky military kids. BRAT PACK 11 is a program administered by the Boot Campaign to show honor and gratitude to our nation’s youngest boots on the ground by providing unforgettable experiences with memories to last a lifetime. And when the big event is over, Brat Pack 11 participants remain connected with a network for continued support throughout their childhood. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!
So what sorts of things would be considered for granting a wish? Some of our military brats have wished to go an exciting trip, to meet a hero or celebrity, or to receive a special item they’ve always wanted. It’s up to you to decide what would make your dreams come true! The timeline for granting a wish is dependent on several factors, including the nature of the experience and commitments of those involved, but we’ll make every effort to turn dreams into reality for lucky Brat Pack 11 wish recipients.
Here’s what you need to know to apply:
To be considered for a Brat Pack 11 Wish Experience, applicantsmust meet ONE of the following criteria:
- Have at least one parent killed in the line of duty
- Have at least one parent deceased due to military service related hardships
- Have at least one parent severely wounded in action
Applicants must be nominated with the permission of their parent/legal guardian and must be nominated by a person age 18 or older.
Brat Pack 11 was founded in 2009 by Kenzie Hall, whose father was deployed to Afghanistan.
