Boot Campaign’s Exclusive Pre-Release Screening of Lone Survivor!
In 2009, after reading the heroic true story of Marcus Luttrell and his teammates in the New York Times #1 Bestseller Lone Survivor, our five founding Boot Girls made it their mission to create the Boot Campaign – a nonprofit that is dedicated to cultivating awareness, promoting patriotism, and providing assistance to our military, past and present, and their families.
On January 7, 2014 we had the privilege of partnering with Marcus Luttrell to host a pre-release screening of the feature film Lone Survivor. Held at the Cinemark West Plano in Plano, TX the Boot Campaign and Marcus Luttrell hosted a special evening to honor the men and families of Operation Red Wing and further honor our motto of, “When They Come Back, We Give Back.” More than 600 people attended with all proceeds raised benefitting Boot Campaign and Lone Survivor Foundation.
About the film:
Based on The New York Times bestselling true story of heroism, courage and survival, Lone Survivor tells the incredible tale of four Navy SEALs on a covert mission to neutralize a high-level al-Qaeda operative who are ambushed by the enemy in the mountains of Afghanistan. The Lone Survivor pre-release screening featured a VIP Reception, opening remarks by Marcus Luttrell, Q&A with Marcus after the movie, Boot Campaign apparel booth, and a celebrity Red Carpet with special guests including Marcus Luttrell, Operation Red Wing Surviving Spouses: Cindy Axelson and Char Fontan Westfall as well as Roger Staubach, Jay Novacek, NASCAR driver David Starr, Glenn Beck, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Taya Kyle, Dan Bailey, Kyle Bosworth and Aaron Watson.
