For the twelfth year in a row, people can see why nearly 2,500 Shiner residents love the Cleanest Little City in Texas. Routes begin together at the historic Spoetzl Brewery. The 5K is an out-and-back course through the picturesque city, while the Half Marathon is a hilly but scenic route through the Texas countryside, winding through Green Dickson Park and including a mile of loose gravel. Proceeds benefit Boot Campaign.

Boot Campaign’s Seasons of Service Program unites Americans to show gratitude, meet service members’ needs and strives to alleviate stress and financial burden, by delivering specially-curated gifts and services to Veteran and active duty military families nationwide.

The Permian Basin Association of Directional Drilling’s (PBADD) annual BASIN BURNOUT BBQ Cook-off & Music Festival is a fundraising event that gives back to the Permian Basin community as well as raises money and awareness for U.S. military Veterans.

Join us for the 2026 Ruck for the Fallen on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, in the beautiful city of Quitman, Texas. This inspiring event is not just a challenge for participants, but a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Participants can choose to walk or run either a 5K or 10K distance, with the unique twist of adding a ruck—participants must carry a minimum weight of 35 pounds to compete for podium awards. Whether you join solo or with a team, this event promises camaraderie and a spirit of remembrance.
