Wood County Ruck for the Fallen

Join us for the 2026 Ruck for the Fallen on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, in the beautiful city of Quitman, Texas. This inspiring event is not just a challenge for participants, but a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Participants can choose to walk or run either a 5K or 10K distance, with the unique twist of adding a ruck—participants must carry a minimum weight of 35 pounds to compete for podium awards. Whether you join solo or with a team, this event promises camaraderie and a spirit of remembrance.
The Ruck for the Fallen is more than just a race; it’s an opportunity to support our veterans, with 99% of the proceeds benefiting the Boot Campaign, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and military families. The remaining funds will support the Quitman Lake Country Charitable Foundation, which works to enhance the quality of life in the local community. Don’t miss out on packet pickup on May 14th and 15th at Honor Coffee, and get ready to lace up your shoes for an unforgettable day on May 16th at Jim Hogg Park
