Johnson Volk Provides a Boot-ful of Needs

We are often inspired by how our supporters rally their community and coworkers to join in our mission. This summer, the team at Johnson Volk, a civil engineering and landscape architecture firm in Plano, Texas, took on the task of adopting several Seasons of Service Program families and challenged their employees to help fill the needs for each of them.
Johnson Volk knew their staff was competitive, so they divided employees into four teams to see who could raise the most money the fastest. The team that reached their goal first was awarded a free lunch and in true Boot Campaign fashion, combat boots were used as each team’s donation pledge “jar.”
The mission was personal to team captains because each served in various branches of our Armed Forces. As Noelle Massey, an Accounting & Payroll Specialist with Johnson Volk, shared, “My own son has served in the Air Force for 17 years (three more to go for retirement!) so this was very close to my heart.”
“I can’t imagine how hard it is for families who are facing difficult and sometimes tragic circumstances. We are privileged to be able to bless and support those who Boot Campaign serves. Thank you for what you do to help these families!”
The Johnson Volk team not only met their goal, but exceeded it – on the very first day!
