DePuy Synthes Gets Their Boots On!

/

DePuy-Synthes-BootcampEarlier this year, the DePuy Synthes Trauma team gathered in San Antonio, TX for its National Sales Meeting. As part of the meeting, sales consultants had the opportunity to support a charitable cause that originated in Texas, the Boot Campaign, and give back to the local community.

The Boot Campaign encourages action through its tagline, “Get Your Boots On”. The idea is simple: buy a pair of Army-style boots to wear and show your support for veterans nationwide. Proceeds from boots fund various programs offered by the organization, such as mortgage-free homes for returning soldiers, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) counseling, or assistance for a military widow or widower.

The Boot Campaign became part of the week-long meeting – not only through a booth where attendees could try on boots and talk with campaign representatives, but also through the team’s leadership, who sported the boots at each session and reminded attendees that they too could get involved.  Attendees were seen wearing their new boots throughout the conference events — even to the formal dinner!

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of those in San Antonio, the Boot Campaign sold more than 200 pairs of boots and raised more than $36,000. The Johnson & Johnson Matching Gifts Program is expected to result in matches that total more than $100,000 to this organization. That translates to providing three mortgage-free homes or 700 hours of PTSD counseling, all through the generosity of the meeting attendees.

This effort was a reflection of the values in Our Credo responsibility to the communities in which we work and live. The team is proud to have been able to serve those who have served us, and grateful for the opportunity to come together and do good for those who are in need.
