Leslie Jordan Honors On Memorial Day
During the quarantine brought on by COVID-19, you could say Leslie Jordan has been one of the top people to follow along on social media to lift your spirits and bring a little (or a lot) of humor to your day.
But on Monday, May 24, 2020 — Memorial Day — the well-known actor used his platform to remind everyone of the harsh reality that so many military families know all too well — that there is a precious price for our freedom. Leslie shared a photo of himself laced up in his Boot Campaign boots with the following sentiments:
On this Memorial Day let us remember that our freedom isn’t free — and, we should all be proud to be Americans. I am honored to be affiliated with the Boot Campaign, helping veterans and military families with wonderful programs.
Boot Campaign’s mission is personal to him; when Leslie was 11, his father who served in the Army was killed in a plane crash in 1966 as he was flying to Hattiesburg, MS to run the Army Reserve base there. Hear the whole story by watching the video. Who do you wear your boots for?
