Celebrating 7 Years of Holiday Partnership with The Lumistella Company

/

There’s something special about holiday traditions. Traditions bring us together, remind us why we gather or celebrate and keep us spirited through the remaining months out of the year.

The Lumistella Company, a longtime partner for our holiday program, Santa Boots, knows all about what makes the holiday season magical, as they are the official source for the stories of Santa’s North Pole!

What began with their three founders joining our #LaceUpAmerica movement by putting on combat boots in 2015 has blossomed into an annual partnership that has put smiles on the faces of hundreds of military families nationwide.

To celebrate our seventh year of partnership with The Lumistella Company team, we are excited to highlight their organization, share their heart for the military community and explain why their staff (and Scout Elves) choose to #livelacedup with Boot Campaign!

Tell us about The Lumistella Company’s history, mission and purpose.

Founded in 2005 by a mother and daughter team, the company is home to a number of iconic Christmas brands, including: The Elf on the Shelf®, Elf Pets®, and Elf Mates®. Each of these brands, along with their global portfolio of intellectual property, is managed by The Lumistella Company and distributed through a broad assortment of consumer products, engaging brand experiences and original entertainment designed to create joyful family moments during the holiday season.

From animated specials streaming on Netflix to an outdoor immersive theatrical adventure to over 19 million Scout Elves and Elf Pets ® adopted from Santa-approved adoption centers in 17 countries, The Lumistella Company delivers Christmas cheer to families all across the world.

Tell us how you first got involved with Boot Campaign and why supporting the military community is important to The Lumistella Company?

As an organization, it’s important to us that we support causes that our employees care about, so in 2014, we surveyed our entire staff to identify the types of causes we wanted to focus on supporting as a company. From that process, we developed our philanthropic mission and identified veteran causes as one that is very near and dear to our hearts. Supporting those who serve and their families hits close to home, as there are direct ties to the military throughout our organizations.

Boot Campaign is a perfect partner because of this and their mission very much aligns with ours, which is to “positively impact the lives of children and their families—here and around the world—by providing for their basic needs, thus empowering them to create better communities and meaningful family moments.

What do you love most about Boot Campaign’s holiday program, Santa Boots?

We are grateful for the opportunity to support our military families and participate in the joy of giving back to them in a tangible way during the holidays. There is nothing more special than being a part of bringing joyful family moments to the families of those who serve our country. We are proud to partner with Boot Campaign and the Santa Boots Program to lend this support year after year and to find ways to continue to build upon our meaningful partnership.

This year, in addition to our annual corporate contributions, we are offering our employees the opportunity to donate directly to Santa Boots via a virtual event held during the month of November. Each year, The Lumistella Company selects a recipient organization to be the beneficiary of our annual Chippey’s Angel Tree employee giving event.

While we are still primarily working from home, the Santa’s Boots partnership turned out to be the perfect fit given that our employees can make purchases directly from the Santa Boots online store and have those needed items sent directly to deserving military families. It’s an easy and fun way to give back to those who serve our country!

For The Lumistella Company, what does it look like to #LiveLacedUp?

Santa’s Helpers are the driving force behind the North Pole’s employee engagement and volunteer program. Over 80 percent of the North Pole’s workforce proudly make spirits bright year-round through meaningful, hands-on volunteerism.

At the core of our business are the values that make our company an exceptional place to work—known here at the North Pole as F.I.R.E.

FAMILY-FOCUS: Hold dear the concept of family and what it might mean to others.

INTEGRITY: Be authentic, transparent and honest; live and work with purpose.

RESPECT: Treat others the way you want to be treated; appreciate others’ abilities, qualities and achievements.

EXCELLENCE: Always work at your highest and best level; if there is a way to do something better, DO THAT!

We also offer employees a chance to direct corporate funds to support causes that they care most about through our employee discretionary fund.
