On August 18th come out and join The Combined Chive Powers of Central Florida (Space Coast Chive, Central Florida Chive, Tampa Bay Chive, First Coast Chive, and theCHIVE Fort Lauderdale) for an evening of partying with a purpose. We will be raising money to support Ricky Raley as he does a 1551-mile, 14-day handcycle ride – propelled mostly by your arms and upper body – that covers more than 130 miles per day and features approximately 16,000 feet of climbing over varied terrain in who knows what kind of weather. From New York city to St. Petersburg FL. August 13th – 25th where he will complete his journey.
Ricky has a back story of awesomeness (OIF) just as badass as he is today. (That story will be in the linked articles) As a Chive Charities recipient (https://chivecharities.org/story/ricky-raley) he’s a success story and has continued to be an inspiration to many people. With this journey he’s paying it forward to other veterans.
He’s trying to raise $150k for the Boot Campaign’s revolutionary Health and Wellness pipeline provides veterans access and funding to individualized and comprehensive roadmaps to recovery from invisible wounds of war.
Joining forces with evidence-based treatment and training partners across the United States, Boot Campaign helps veterans and their families struggling with traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, self-medication and insomnia.
So let’s do our part and donate what we can.
